Kim first fell in love with South Africa during a brief holiday in 1996. With this first trip inspiring her to combine her three loves - writing, photography and travel - she returned on several lengthy tours to cover South Africa as a guidebook author and travel writer.

Not happy with mere country visits, Kim eventually moved to Cape Town for three years where she completed a Master degree in African Studies. Kim has also published two books - Lonely Planet's South Africa, Lesotho & Swaziland and Offbeat South Africa: the travel guide to the wacky and wonderful - and numerous travel articles on the country.

Although she has recently relocated to Australia, she continually returns to South Africa to scour the country for the best restaurants, accommodation, attractions, and activities.

Consultancy Costs Hour Rate: $80 per hour
Day Rate: $400
Talks: $100 per hour (plus travel expenses outside Sydney), which usually includes a 45 minute presentation with slides, and about 15 minutes of questions.
